This workshop focuses on composing and painting a figure within a natural setting, using a structured process that reflects my own working method. Over the course of five weeks, we’ll move through each stage—from preparing the surface and building a solid drawing, to underpainting, color, and final adjustments—working from a single reference image provided at the start. The course blends a traditional three-layer oil painting structure with insights from my studio practice, including how I work with references, develop atmosphere, and build form through tone and color.
I’ll share my approach to building structure and atmosphere gradually, using a methodical process that still leaves room for painterly decisions and interpretation—including how I develop form in the figure and fabric, and how I paint natural elements like grass and foliage without overworking them.
Alongside the step-by-step demonstrations, I’ll share reflections on the themes that shape my work—how the human figure relates to its surroundings, how gesture and posture can suggest a quiet narrative, and how light connects the body to the space around it. We’ll also look at how subtle shifts in proportion, edge, and color temperature can bring a figure to life and give a sense of atmosphere and presence.
This workshop is for painters interested in figurative realism, landscape, or for those coming from a different background.

Workshop Format & Schedule
The online workshop will be held via Zoom. Recordings will be available for those who cannot attend live.
Each session will be streamed live, showing both my painting process and the palette view, so you can follow every step closely.
Sessions take place on Saturdays at 6 PM Central European Time (12 PM Eastern / 9 AM Pacific).
They run for 3.5 to 4 hours, divided into 3–4 focused blocks with short breaks in between to keep things comfortable and clear.

Who Should Enroll
This workshop is open to all levels. Beginners will benefit from clear structure and focused exercises, while more experienced painters can use the sessions to refine their technique and sharpen their observation skills.
FAQ
If I can’t make the zoom meeting live, can I watch it later?
Yes, all classes will be recorded and sent via email within 48 hours. You’ll have access to the full set of recordings for 12 months
I’m in a very different time zone (like Australia or Asia). Will I still be able to take part in the workshop?
Absolutely. The workshop is designed to be fully accessible internationally. While the main sessions might fall at challenging hours in certain regions, all classes will be recorded in high resolution and uploaded promptly after each session—so you can comfortably follow at your own pace.
If you’re enrolled in the feedback tier, I’ll make sure we find convenient time slots that work across time zones for individual feedback and Q&A sessions. My goal is to ensure you have a valuable and personal learning experience, no matter where you’re joining from.
This flexible approach has worked well for students from Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and other distant locations.
Is this class good for beginners?
This workshop is open to all levels. Beginners will benefit from clear structure and focused exercises, while more experienced painters can use the sessions to refine their technique and sharpen their observation skills.
Can I paint along during class?
Absolutely — you’re welcome to paint along during class.
Some students prefer to watch first and revisit the recording later to paint at their own pace. Both approaches work well, so feel free to do what suits you best.
Will I be able to ask questions during the workshop?
Only students enrolled in the Feedback Tier will be able to ask questions during the live sessions. If you’re in the Watch and Paint Tier, you’re welcome to follow along silently and watch the full recordings afterward.
Is there a group chat for participants?
No, there is no general group chat. All important updates, links, and materials will be sent via email.
Students in the Feedback Tier will also have access to a private WhatsApp group for sharing progress and staying in touch between sessions.
How long will I have access to the class recordings?
All participants will receive access to the recordings for 12 months after the last session.
Can I paint with acrylic, watercolor, etc.?
We will focus exclusively on creating oil paintings.
How can I contact you for more information?
Feel free to reach out to me via Instagram or email at kateryniukandrii@gmail.com with any additional questions.
What language is the workshop conducted in?
Personal feedback is available in English, Ukrainian, or Russian. I can also offer basic support in Italian, but please note that my Italian is limited.
How does feedback work?
Each week, you’ll be able to either book a live feedback slot using the app or receive email feedback on your work—whichever suits you best.
